The textbook is devoted to topical issues of medical ecology. Basic information about environmental factors causing the development of environmentally dependent pathology is presented. The priority inorganic and organic xenobiotics for Samara and the Samara region are considered in detail, their sources, ways of entry into the human body, the mechanism of toxic action on biological objects of different levels of organization are indicated. The types and consequences of the ecological crisis for both humans and the biosphere as a whole are described. For better assimilation of the material, the manual includes questions for self-control, test tasks and situational tasks modeling situations as close as possible to medical activity. The textbook is intended for students of medical universities and is prepared in accordance with the requirements of the current Federal State educational standard of higher education of the specialty "Medicine", "Pediatrics", "Dentistry", "Preventive medicine" and work programs of the disciplines "Biology", "Human Ecology", "Biology, ecology" and "Environmental criteria environmental pollution", approved by the CCMS of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, may be useful for teachers of medical universities, doctors of various specialties and ecologists.
