The textbook provides an overview of environmental toxicology, the causes and types of environmental pollution. In addition, the effects of heavy metals on biological systems at different hierarchical levels: organisms, populations, communities and ecosystems are studied. It are also covered the mechanisms of impact of metals on human, plant and animal health, as well as the stability of biological systems, methods of combating soil contamination with heavy metals, principles and methods of standardization of toxic elements in the soil.
