The textbook examines the priority types of tourism of the Republic of Kazakhstan, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the current state of specially protected natural areas, nature and biosphere reserves. It also describes the elements of intangible cultural heritage as part of the tourist and recreational potential. The textbook contains a detailed description of tourist and recreational resources in all regions and cities of national significance of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Southern, Northern, Central, Western, Eastern regions, as well as the cities of Almaty and Nur-Sultan. The textbook is intended for students of higher educational institutions, and will also be useful for teachers of special tourist disciplines.
