The textbook contains basic data on the pharmacology of medicinal substances affecting the central nervous system. The historical aspects of the search and implementation of certain drugs into medical practice are considered. Modern classifications of drugs affecting the central nervous system, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs, the main indications and methods of use, side effects of drugs and the possibility of their correction are mentioned. The effect of drugs affecting the central nervous system on the fetus and the child's organism is described. The use of medicines affecting the central nervous system in dentistry has been outlined. The textbook describes experimental works that allow to study the issues of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in experimental conditions. Situational cases, prescription tasks, test tasks with keys are included. The textbook was prepared in the discipline "Pharmacology" in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education for students of medical and pharmaceutical universities of all specialties and areas of training.
